ORTHODONTICS IN ADULT AGE AND INVISALIGN
Orthodontics has no age limits. In recent years more and more adults require orthodontic treatments with the goal of obtaining a more balanced chewing and most important to improve the aesthetic appearance of their smile and their face.
We can get this achievement thanks to equipment absolutely compatible with the lifestyle of an adult because they are not visible and invasive: Invisalign.
Sometimes we perform short and targeted treatments to solve the small details of the smile, to also allow you to place the veneers or installations more easily and optimally.
Then there are special situations in which the patient may require adult orthodontic treatment, such as bruxism, pain and/or joint noises of the jaw, pain and/or fatigue the muscles of the face and neck (temporomandibular disorders) or chronic snoring and sleep apnea.
There are malocclusions in adults who sometimes require the combined intervention of the orthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon, as well as misaligned teeth are bone problems.
Orthodontic treatment in adults can last from 6 to 36 months, depending on whether you are running reduced pre-prosthetic treatments, orthodontic treatment or orthodontic-surgical treatments.
WHAT IS INVISALIGN?
Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic treatment that allows you to straighten your teeth without braces. Infact Invisalign uses a series of masks made of transparent polymer and removable, built on the footprint of the dental patient, spanning teeth like a glove on a hand. Each mask gradually move the teeth which need to be realigned.
Invisalign uses a three-dimensional computerized technology that lets you gradually see the complete treatment plan from the initial position of your teeth to the final one. Each mask moves teeth gradually over a period of about two weeks. Then it will be replaced with the next one until the teeth do not reach the planned final position.
